Land Lords

Land Lords' primary objective is service learning through hands-on conservation work and exploration of the ecology and science of conservation practices. The Land Lords adopt trails at the Brown Family Environmental Center (BFEC) for trail maintenance and the removal of invasive species.Beyond the BFEC, we volunteer at nearby state parks and with the Knox County Park District, and organize projects with local groups to raise awareness for environmental issues. We also raise money to bring students from local, underfunded elementary schools to the BFEC on field trips so they have an opportunity to learn about the local flora and fauna.
